Signage in 2024 photographed by Anna Diljå Sigurðardóttir "Welcome to SlusegÄrd and Øster SÞmark" on Bornholm, Denmark.
"At SlusegĂ„rd, Bornholm’s longest stream, BĂŠkken, has its outlet into the sea. The stream has its source in the highlands called Øleland. The force of the water has historically been used in watermills. The SlusegĂ„rd watermill dates back to the 1700s. Later, in the 1800s, a trout farm was built here. The deep valley and the strong water current made the place particularly suitable for this. "- Translated from Danish.
